An absolute must have upgrade for your Rickenbacker.Much easier to adjust string height and intonation plus it weight a ton and adds much needed sustain to my 4003.Hipshot did a real nice job on this one.

Surprisingly heavy for a bridge but the quality is superb. Put this on your Ric and it sustains forever! Bridge and string adjustment is easy Rickenbacker should upgrade to this now! Well done Hipshot! Si

This is the bridge Ric should put on all their basses. Much better design. Improves the sound quality and sustain. All the characteristics of the ric sound that we all adore are brought out better with this.

Extremely easy to adjust and very easy to install.

This is a review of the reviews!

They make all sorts of great comments but leave out one CRITICAL element.
Is the bridge they are "reviewing" BRASS or ALUMINUM?
This makes a big difference, but none of them even eluded to it.

Just an explanation for the curious: aluminum transmits mids and highs better, while brass is better at transmitting lows (I believe because the material is denser, but this parenthetical is just speculation).

The finish shouldn't affect your sound. Each should be conductive enough to work just fine with the ground wire. This choice ought to be 100% aesthetic.

Well made (unlike the originals) Nice and solid. I've just spent close to 5 hours setting mine up as there are just so many micro adjustments that can be made. Love it! love the side adjustment too. My 4003 now plays better than ever!

This is a review of the review of the review! the first 3 reviews where before Hipshot made a Aluminium bridge so there was only the Brass made ones hence heavy.

Replaced the stock tail piece/bridge on my 2010 RIC 4003 with the Aluminum version. Big difference. Adjustments are a snap. Sustain has increased slightly. Absolutely no negatives. You owe it to yourself to replace your stock unit with this.

Although it looks good, and the concept makes sense, in actual use the hipshot replacement bridge didn't work out for me. The individual bridge pieces clack and clatter out of place and lowered out of adjustment as I played. This was during a gig that only required a light touch.

I am a finger style player. Maybe a pick player wouldn't experience these issues.

Best of luck!
